WHO KNOWS WHERE THE TAR IS IN DUBAI?

You have all heard about those grand and massive apartment buildings in Dubai I suspect. Well, you may want to consider again if you are thinking about moving to Dubai to retire.

Letter from a resident to the Dubai news online, 7 Days:

I moved to Al Warqa 2 in 2011 and have been happy with the building and the facilities. The quality of materials used in the buildings is second to none in Dubai. However, there is one problem that torments every resident in Al Warqa. There are no roads that lead to the building. Each of the buildings is beautifully constructed with modern designs but each of them lies inside a sand pit.

Initially Al Warqa was known to be land to only locals with villas of their own, however over the past few years, a number of residential apartment buildings have been built. The path to the building I live in is completely off-road for approximately 600m. I know this might sound like a short distance, but going back and forth twice a day for a whole year with a small car does have an impact on the car. Not all of us can afford 4x4s

With the number of residents in these areas, it would be a small investment for the government to build some roads and increase the number of people in the area.

Would be great to know how we can contact the authorities to be able to get this situation sorted.

I believe that tar is made from petroleum. Do you suppose Dubai has access to some crude oil in the Persian Gulf region.

LOOKING FOR A THINK TANK

Since I retired, and since I declined to run for the Republican nomernation, I have been thrashing 'round fer a way ta justeefy my existence. Well, what do them other contemplative gurus like me do.

Michael Gorbachev, Henry Kissinger, Javier Solana, Dick Cheney, and Zbigniew Brzezinski (gesundheit) all retired and joined one a them high toned think tanks. I never seen a think tank, so I am not sure that life what think tank would be like. But, I am willing to give er a try ifn the thunk bizness paid at all rightly.

Now, if some kind reader would put me in tech with a thinken tank that lacks a quorum, tell them I am in the think tank market. I would be only too pleased to give many hours, and burn the midnight oil inta the wee hours, to advance the cause of thinking. I always said that a little thinking evry day couldn't do on one no harm. In fact, after listening to Newt Gingrich and Mittens Romney go at it, I reckon they cud use some inerstruction in the art of thinking.

Now, I don't require much. I expect to eat vittles right along with old Henry Kissinger and Dick Cheney and not be at tall offendered ifn they eats with thar knife instead of their spoon. I done that onct myself, and it works find.

So, you all do keep me in mind, kindly, and tell ol Henry I is available.

Thanks
